Ok so let me get started by saying that I have been using the L’Oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector
Day/Night cream for a little over a month. I was originally looking for a serum to help minimize my gigantic pores and also a moisturizer that would help smooth out my skin during this harsh wintery wearther we’ve had in Minnesota. So I decided to venture out and see if there was anything out there for my extreme combination skin (extremely oily in my T-zone and dry everywhere else).
About a month ago while shopping around at Ulta I managed to come across a product that claimed to do both. So I thought, Hey! what the heck, ill give it ago, whats the worse that can happen … Break out in a rash? .. Get acne? .. Become bed ridden with face blisters?… So I through it into my basked with the rest of the goodies. 🙂
Packing: Packing is beautiful. Looks and feels high-end. Square glass container with a twist on lid. My issue is its HEAVY! Not very travel friendly. BOO!
The Product: The product is a creamy light pink texture. Feels light-weight. Has a light floral scent. I personally do like floral scents however I have heard most people complain about it. I do feel it comes down to perseonal preferance, so that on it’s own would be for you to decide.
Performance: I have been testing this product out twice a day for almost a month. Morning and night. After a few days of using this product, I noticed my skin is somewhat softer. The dry patches felt less drying as well. I love how its light enough for day time (keep in mind it’s still the colder months now).
However my complaint about this product is that it doesn’t really hydrate my skin or minimize my pores. You would think for a cream it would hydrate. I can’t completely say this is for everyone because I don’t feel like its hydrates the skin. I feel as if I have to keep reapplying or use another moisturizer on top. Another thing I would say is, it lacks spf for daytime use so I do recommend to look into a SPF for a better combination. I would prefer to use this product as a base for my foundation or as an alternative to primer instead of a daily moisturizer, it does help set the foundation and make it last a little longer.
So do I recommend this? I do recommend this if you’re on a budget. It’s a drugstore product and you get a large amount. Remember to try to catch it on a sale along with coupons. It retails for $25 but with some coupons and a sale you can get it for $10-15. Do I think it’s worth $25? Maybe not. But definitely worth $15!
So my hunt for the perfect pore-minimizing moisturizer continues…
